Meet Eve Sanoussi, MS, AMFT
“This is the beginning of a road whose end is totally unknown and totally known.” — Marion Woodman
Hi, I’m Eve.
Asking for help can feel terrifying. It may mean confronting truths that we have worked very hard to suppress.
Many of my clients believe they must be perfect, or appear to be, in order to be loved. Some have avoided seeking help because they had to be the glue for their families from an early age. For others, it’s not failure they fear exposing—but desires, behaviors, or patterns they have kept carefully hidden. What would it feel like to finally be held by someone else? To be truly known and not rejected?
As a therapist who has confronted my own truths, I want to help you walk toward that great unknown. No matter what brings you into the room, I will not judge you, I’ll support you.
Perhaps you’re…
Finding yourself drawn to the same kinds of people, despite knowing better, and wondering why you can’t seem to choose differently
Trapped in a cycle of constant striving, fear of failure, or never feeling good enough
Feeling like a stranger to yourself
Caught in a pattern of sexual shame, whether it is culturally reinforced or rooted in something deeper, like past trauma or early experiences
Struggling with sexual or relational behaviors that feel out of your control
Loving or partnered with someone whose sexual behaviors have left you feeling betrayed, confused, or not enough
I can help you with:
Breaking cycles of unavailability, emotional disconnection, or self-abandonment in relationships
Shame-driven perfectionism and chronic overworking
Rediscovering who you are beneath the roles, expectations, and masks you’ve carried
Overcoming sexual shame
Sexual behaviors that feel out of alignment with your values or beyond your control
Infidelity and betrayal recovery
My clients are:
I enjoy working with adults and couples.
I often work with clients who are in LGBTQIA+ and ethically non-monogamous relationships. Together, we work toward healing shame, patterns of intimacy and sexuality that aren’t working, and infidelity.
My clients want more than a quick fix; they want to understand themselves.
Off the clock:
I love browsing secondhand bookshops, practicing yoga, and tending to my houseplants.
How I help:
My work is informed by psychoanalytic, relational, and attachment-based approaches. I help you deeply understand the patterns underlying your behavior, so that they no longer run the show.
In couples therapy, I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques to help partners reach for each other, rather than withdraw or attack, and rebuild emotional safety.
What you can anticipate from working with me:
A steady, consistent presence as you explore your inner world and your relationships
Gentle confrontation when you’re ready for it
Affirming care for LGBTQIA+, kink, and ethically non-monogamous identities
What clients say about working with me:
My clients often describe feeling deeply understood, sometimes before they’ve found the words themselves. Many tell me I am warm and perceptive, and that our work is the first time they’ve felt truly safe to be honest.
My educational background:
Master of Science in Psychology, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona
