Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer Free Consultation?
Yes! We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation with the therapist of your choice.
This brief call gives you the opportunity to:
Share what you’re looking for in therapy
Ask questions about your therapist’s approach
Get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit before scheduling your first session
What should I expect in my first session?
The first session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know one another. We will discuss the concerns that bring you to counseling, your goals for therapy, some of your history, and some details regarding initial paperwork, scheduling, and payment. Most importantly, however, you will leave with an understanding of why your personal or relational circumstances have become difficult, and you will begin to understand how change in your present situation can occur.
How long is a session?
A standard session is 45 minutes long. However, longer are also available; some clients in more pressing circumstances may find these longer sessions more suitable for their needs.
What is the session fee?
Our fees are commensurate with other licensed healthcare professionals who hold similar degrees and levels of specialized clinical training across all Center for Integrative Change (CIC) locations.
Each clinician’s rate reflects their education, experience, and the advanced care they provide.
We value transparency and accessibility, and we believe in providing care that reflects both our professional expertise and our clients’ needs.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes, we do offer a sliding scale in certain circumstances. If you would like to discuss the sliding scale with us, please submit a contact form, an email at hello@centerforintegrativechange.com and or send us a text or leave us a voicemail at (805) 256-3497 and our CIC client care specialist will return your call promptly.
Do you accept insurance?
We are considered out of network; therefore we are not with any insurance panels, and thus CIC is unable to accept HMO insurance. As out-of-network providers, however, we are able to accept most PPO insurance policies, which can helpfully offset the cost of therapy. We are happy to provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company to obtain reimbursement directly from your insurance.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept payment by cash, check, and credit card, specifically Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, HSA or FSA Cards. Please note that payment for online sessions can only be made through credit or debit card.
How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, please contact the CIC client care specialist at hello@centerforintegrativechange.com or call (805) 256-3497. You are also welcome to visit the contact form on this website.
